About bloody time.
Although you show a great aptitude for saying a lot without actually saying anything at all.
We are still none the wiser as to the reasoning behind his dismissal from the upper echelons of dA management/administration. None of what you have said in this journal entry has shown any reason that warrants dismissal, if anything it has put it out there in the open that °jark was and still is invaluable to the community.
At least you have shown respect in this journal entry for what he was trying to achieve with this site, and how much time and effort he's put in, but if you're saying that a 'quiet' dismissal was respectful, you're so damn wrong, it's laughable.
It was not only confusing to Jark, but as you saw with the reaction from the community at large, it was your greatest mistake to date. People were outraged at the lack of communication between Jark and dA regarding the dismissal he allegedly didn't even know about for sure until he logged into his account and saw that $ had become °. This was highly *dis*respectful.
What should have happened was a meeting, where the future was discussed, your reasons for his dismissal clearly outlined, and the whole thing occuring reasonably amicably and without avarice, subterfuge and confusion.
Then and only then, should a press release have been made, telling them community, how and why, and allowing Jark to have a say in that release, reassuring people that it was the right thing to do.
This would have negated the outcry, and the celebration of dA's anniversary wouldn't have been tainted with yellow blood. There would have been tributes sure, but nothing as wide scale and heated as the current situation has been.
I hope for your sake that you never handle such a situation so badly again, otherwise faith will be lost, and you might find yourself out in the gutter, when the community revolts and leaves the site for pastures new.
People are not objects, they are not just variables in a database, they have to be treated with respect, a quality you appear to lack. I don't know you except by your actions. But here, actions speak louder than words.
